We had the most delightful stay and adore your house! I have never met anyone as passionate as me about all things French – until now!! We will be back and will tell all of our friends.

The wee extras were so thoughtful and we have loved our anniversary. Thank you so much

Thank you for wonderful accommodation. I hope it has been left in state that is reasonable and doesn’t require too much physical or mental effort to restore it to its exquisite condition for its next occupants (but I am only a rough Winmera farmer so my standards may be low). Thanks so much.

P.S. Loved the variety of knickknacks and especially the books.

P.P.S. Do you have shoe fetish?

After visiting the website for at Eleven, la petite maison, in historic Hobart’s Sandy Bay and booking in, I had high expectations. My expectations weren’t met; they were exceeded, and by far.

This is no ordinary B&B, this is an atmospheric, homely, generously proportioned cottage, stylishly decorated by a host who has stamped her love of Paris, France and touches of Japan with mementos, art, furnishings, books and ‘love’ from her extensive travels over many years.

As beautiful as the decor and design are, every room is a surprise; the expansive bathroom has a deep freestanding bath, bountiful shower rose, heat lights, fluffy towels and the best natural hair and body lotions all of which are complementary.

The compact kitchen is well stocked with a range of teas and rain forest coffees, the excellent breads and local hand-made jams, breakfast cereals and so on.

Bookcases with mainstream and eclectic collections of books are throughout this cottage including in the front sunny lounge room, which is straight out of ‘Country Style’ decor.

The host’s CD collection covers every genre and mood.

To complete the picture and the piece-de-resistance of at Eleven, la petite maison, is the bedroom. It’s simply beautiful to be in. There are too many features to describe here, but for me, looking out into a private courtyard with water features, ‘fairy’ lights and sculptures, was one of many highlights.

The bed of course is comfortable and a computer is conveniently placed.

My host, Karen has been in hospitality for most of her life and carved a successful career in Australia and internationally. It shows in every detail of her petite maison and of course in her gracious and warm personality.

No wonder visitors from all over the world come to stay once and return.

I’ve stayed in B&B’s all over the world. At Eleven, la Petite maison, is up there with the best.
